NZ heifer synchrony study - proven benefits to the farmer and the vet clinic

24 July 2022

Superior heifer performance

AgriHealth commissioned a two-year NZ study which confirmed that heifers synchronised with the DIB Co-Synch program had superior reproductive efficiency and profitability compared with untreated heifers.

Watch the video below (4:30 min) to view the results from this study, the benefits to farmers and the vet clinic. For a Technical Bulletin outlining the study, click here

Heifers synchronised with the DIB Co-Synch program have a number of advantages for farmers:
  • An additional 3% of heifers pregnant at the end of the mating period
  • Conceived 11 days earlier, which will result in heifers calving 11 days earlier. This means 11 additional days in milk and higher milk production
  • 11 additional days for recovery after calving prior to the next mating period
  • Tighter calving spread which is simpler to manage for farmers
  • Plus, faster genetic gain in the AB replacement calves
