Tylosin is a macrolide antibiotic with a broad spectrum of activity against Gram positive organisms, and a limited range of Gram negative bacteria.
Pigs: For the treatment of porcine intestinal adenomatosis (Ileitis) associated with Lawsonia intracellularis.
Poultry: For the control of chronic respiratory disease (CRD) in broiler and replacement layer chickens, caused by Mycoplasma gallisepticum and/or M. synoviae, and treatment and prevention of necrotic enteritis associated with susceptible strains of Clostridium perfringens.
Cattle: For reducing the incidence of liver abscess in beef cattle.
Mix thoroughly in feeds before use.
To treat ileitis, feed 400 g premix/1000 kg complete feed, which equates to a concentration of 100 ppm tylosin.
To prevent ileitis, feed 160 g premix/1000 kg complete feed, which equates to a concentration of 40 ppm tylosin.
Broiler Chickens and Replacement Layers:
To control CRD, feed 3,600 – 4,000 g premix/tonne feed, which equates to a concentration of 900,– 1,000 ppm tylosin. Feed for 5 days after hatching. Repeat for 2 days at 3 – 5 weeks of age.
To treat necrotic enteritis, feed 400 g premix/tonne feed for 7 days, which equates to a concentration of 100 ppm tylosin.
To prevent necrotic enteritis, feed 400 g premix/ tonne feed during periods of clinical disease risk.
Feed 88–220 g premix/1000 kg complete feed, which equates to a concentration of 22–55 ppm tylosin. Feed from time of shifting into laying cages.
Complete Feed: For reduction in the incidence of liver abscess feed 44 g premix/1,000 kg complete feed, which equates to a concentration of 11 ppm tylosin. Feed during the period on ration.
Supplementary Feed: Feed 60–90 mg tylosin/head/day.
Meat: Cattle Nil. Pigs Nil. Poultry Nil.
