Meloxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) of the oxicam class which acts by inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis, thereby exerting anti-inflammatory, anti-exudative, analgesic and anti-pyretic effects.
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, analgesic and anti-pyretic injection for use in cattle, pigs and horses.
For use in acute mastitis, in combination with antibiotic therapy, as appropriate, to reduce clinical symptoms in lactating cows.
For use in acute respiratory infection with appropriate antibiotic therapy to reduce clinical signs in cattle.
For use in diarrhoea in combination with oral rehydration therapy to reduce clinical signs in calves of over one week of age and young cattle.
For use in assisting in the control of pain following the dehorning of cattle particularly following heat cautery dehorning of young cattle. It is recommended that the injection be administered approximately 10 minutes before dehorning and be accompanied by cornual nerve block anaesthesia.
For use in acute non-infectious locomotor disorders to reduce the symptoms of lameness and inflammation.
For use in puerperal septicaemia and toxaemia (mastitis-metritis-agalactia syndrome) to reduce clinical signs of inflammation, oppose the effects of endotoxins and hasten recovery in sows.
For single dose rapid initiation of therapy of musculoskeletal disorders and relief of pain associated with colic.
Administer in combination with antibiotic therapy as appropriate.
Cattle: SINGLE USE ONLY. Administer 2.5mL per 100kg body weight (0.5 mg meloxicam /kg) by subcutaneous or intravenous injection. For very young calves weighing less than 50kg a dose rate of 0.5mL per 20kg is appropriate.
Pigs: Administer 2mL per 100kg bodyweight by intramuscular injection in the anterior neck (0.4 mg meloxicam /kg). Can be repeated once after 24 hours if necessary.
Horses: SINGLE USE ONLY. Administer 3mL per 100kg body weight by intravenous injection (0.6 mg meloxicam /kg).
Milk: 84 hours
Meat: Cattle - 10 days Pigs - 3 days Horses - 28 days
Do not use in animals suffering from impaired hepatic, cardiac or renal function and haemorrhagic disorders, where there is evidence of ulcerogenic gastrointestinal disorders, or where there is evidence of individual hypersensitivity to the product.
To administer concurrently with glucocorticoids, other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or with anticoagulant agents is contraindicated.
Store below 25°C. Discard unused content 28 days after opening.
