Action
Tiamulin hydrogen fumarate achieves bacteriostatic effects by interfering with microbial protein metabolism. It is clinically effective against pathogenic mycoplasma organisms and some Gram negative organisms.
Indication
For control and treatment of swine enzootic (mycoplasmal) pneumonia and control, prevention and treatment of swine dysentery in pigs.
For control and treatment of chronic respiratory disease in poultry.
Dosage
Pigs:
Swine Enzootic (Mycoplasmal) Pneumonia control (Maintenance of weight gain): During a period of risk, 1.25 - 1.6 kg of Techmulin 2.5% Premix per 1000kg of ready-for-use feed administered continuously for 10 days.
Swine Dysentery:
Prevention: The dosage is 1.25 - 1.6 kg of Techmulin 2.5% Premix per 1,000kg of ready-for-use feed administered continuously during the risk period. Administer to pigs with a history of dysentery but which do not show clinical signs of disease.
Treatment: The dosage is 4kg Techmulin 2.5% Premix per 1,000kg of ready-for-use feed administered continuously for 5 days.
Poultry:
Chronic Respiratory Disease:
Control: The dosage of 0.6kg Techmulin 2.5% Premix per 1,000kg of ready-for-use feed administered continuously during laying period.
Treatment: The dosage is 2kg Techmulin 2.5% Premix per 1,000kg of ready-for-use feed administered continuously for 5 - 7 days every 28 days.
Contraindication
Do not administer to chickens receiving the ionophore coccidiostats monensin, narasin or salinomycin.
Withholding times
Pigs producing meat and offal for human consumption must not be slaughtered during or within 5 days of the last treatment.
Poultry producing meat for human consumption must not be slaughtered during or within 3 days of the last treatment.

Do not administer to chickens receiving the coccidiostats maduramycin, monensin, narasin, or salinomycin
